Second Year of Projects Week 32

So I wanted to start by apologising for not making it to anyone's blog last week. I had 3 essays and a presentation to write, and it took up all of my free time all week. I will try to visit them this week along with this week's posts!

I haven't had much time to knit either, but I have decided to just give up and add Celestarium to my list!

It's going really well, I'm very nearly finished with the final chart, and I can't decide what to do with the edging. The pattern as written has a simple knitted on garter edging, and I don't want anything too much more fancy than that. However, I wouldn't mind something that obviously edges the star chart. I was thinking of putting a bead every other stitch, but not sure if that'll draw attention from the actual pattern. I also can't decide whether to use the silver beads, or get a different colour. Any suggestions?

    I think adding beads to the edging may very well distract from the main star chart. My suggestion would be to stick with the original unbeaded edge. If you decide to go with beads in the edge, then maybe something more muted (non-metallic) and as dark or darker than the yarn so that they don't compete.

    All that being said, I've never beaded anything knit in my life so my opinion shouldn't count for much :) Can't wait to see what you decide!

    I've got nothing. I'm thinking you could probably leave the beads off for the edge as they could be distracting. Then again, I've never beaded anything in my life...

    I think your studies are more important than blog visiting..no apologies needed..I have no clue about edging..however, we should see you modeling it soon and you do need to model the F/O

    I agree with other commenters that beads in the edging would detract from the pattern of constellations. It's so beautiful as is, a simple border is probably the best way to go.
