I've finished the first sock of the pair
As I said last week, I thought there was something a bit funny with the maths, when turning the heel,
to get the correct number of stitches there were no decreases on the
last row, and then when picking up the gusset stitches, the number it
said to pick up did not add up to the number you were supposed to have, but it was definitely my counting that was wrong, because everything went a bit funny and I ended up with one less sole stitch after the decreases. Then I got 64 stitches at row 66 of foot chart, so had to leave off rows 67-70.
After all that, when decreasing to 24 stitches at the toe, had 13
for top of foot and 11 for sole, so I decreased 2 stitches on top of foot
on last round, going to 22 stitches.
But it fits perfectly despite the issues, and I love it!
Not had much time for knitting this week, as I'm getting settled into Obs & Gynae. I'm really looking forward to Thursday, because I get to assist at an elective caesarian! I have managed to get my house to be immaculate though, let's see how long it stays that way...
I love the sock! I'm glad it fits, despite the math issues. I'm very impressed by your immaculate house, even if it doesn't last!
ReplyDeleteOooh sparkly! As long as it fits, that's all that really matters in the end.
ReplyDeleteSocks scare me and you were able to make one that is perfect! No one can tell you made a mistake so technically you didn't, it looks great.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun sparkly yarn!
ReplyDeleteFun socks--and who can see the mistake? Have a super week! All you sock knitters are slowly inspiring me to try a pair....maybe after Christmas!
ReplyDelete*smiles*
what a gorgeous sock!
ReplyDeleteLove the sock and noone will notice the mistake and hey it fit perfect so I'd say you knit it exactly right. Best of luck on Thursday, how exciting seeing a little one come into the world.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Who says math is always right? It fits, and no one would know unless you've said...Great job! My house is immaculate after much work, but I've got too much time on my hands anyway! Why I get involved in so many different things! LOL...Glad you're settling in at work, and I hope the scheduled surgery goes well for all involved...Good luck! Have a terrific week...
ReplyDeletesocks that fit (human) are impossible for me to knit, so I'm jealous! love the sparkle. Good luck tomorrow.
ReplyDeletePretty! And socks... They go on your feet. Who cares if they go a bit wonky... So long as you end up with the right parts and it fits, it's all good!
ReplyDeleteIs that the vampire yarn (I think it was called something like that..)? I can really see the colors now..they're great..good luck on the new rotation..and a clean house..I'm jealous!
